Here's Something About Mary

I’m a creative designer who loves my artistic pursuits as much as my Apple Mac. I completed my foundation studies at Wimbledon School of Art before training in Typographic Design at LCP. My love of type has persisted and that’s why you won’t find me reproducing ‘design after design’ with a ‘twee’ script font… that’s just not the kind of designer I am. I’m a stickler for precision artwork and the finer nuances of graphic design… Just don’t get me started on ‘kerning’!

I’ve been self employed now for 20 years. Early in my career, I worked for small design studios but also for larger corporates and spent a wonderful period of employment with Canon UK where I was responsible for designing exhibition graphics as well as their regular printed collateral. As a ‘brand guardian’ at Canon, I learnt, first hand how important consistency is to the credibility of a brand so I am well qualified to apply those principles to my own clients.

Equally, I love to escape the exactitude of my digital day job and indulge in more ‘hands on’ crafts of ceramics, mosaic, painting and etching. In 2019 I exhibited as part of Carshalton Artists Open Studios and my ambition would be to spend more time with the clay one day! I have been practising yoga for nearly 20 years and coupled with a keen interest in all areas of health & wellbeing, am delighted to attract so many clients from this sector with a truly empathetic approach to their design needs.
